Zakat is a mandatory form of almsgiving in Islam, while Sadaqa is voluntary. Zakat is a specific percentage (2.5%) of a person’s wealth given to those in need, while Sadaqa can be any form of voluntary charity, big or small.
Sadaqa can be given to anyone in need, regardless of their religious background. It is not limited to Muslims and can be directed towards the poor, orphans, widows, and those facing financial difficulties.
There is no fixed amount or percentage for Sadaqa in Islam. It is a voluntary act of charity, and the amount is left to the discretion of the giver based on their means and willingness to help.
