Rabi Al Awwal
Every year, Rabi-ul-Awwal asks Muslims the same question: what have you done with the example of the Prophet ﷺ?
This month, Muslims reflect on his kindness and mercy. But reflection isn't enough on its own. Rabi-ul-Awwal 2026 is expected to begin in mid-August, and at Human Aid Foundation (HAF), we believe the best way to mark it is through action, giving Sadaqah and helping people who are struggling.
What Is Rabi al-Awwal?
Rabi-ul-Awwal is the third month of the Islamic calendar. The name means "the first spring." It's widely believed to be the month Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born, which is why Muslims use it to reflect on his life and character. It isn't one of the four sacred months in Islam. Its importance comes from what it reminds us of.
When Is Rabi-ul-Awwal 2026?
The Islamic calendar follows the moon, so exact dates depend on moon sighting. Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH is expected to start around 14 August 2026, with the twelfth of the month falling around 25 August 2026. Dates may shift by a day depending on your country, so check with your local mosque nearer the time.
Why Is Rabi al-Awwal Important?
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ lived a life built on mercy, patience and generosity, especially towards people others overlooked. Losing his father before birth and his mother as a child, he understood what it meant to depend on others, and this shaped how he treated people for the rest of his life. Rabi-ul-Awwal gives us a yearly chance to ask how much of that we reflect in our own lives.
Give Sadaqah This Rabi al-Awwal
Sadaqah is voluntary charity, separate from the obligation of Zakat, and can be given at any time, in any amount. At HAF, Sadaqah donations help provide food, clean water and emergency support to families facing hardship.
Your Rabi al-Awwal Donation Can Help
We won't promise that a set amount will "save a life." What we can say is that your donation goes towards real, practical help, whether that's a food parcel, clean water, or urgent support reaching people in an emergency. Giving during Rabi-ul-Awwal won't change the value of your gift, but it can change you.
Please Note: Donations made through the card below will be processed as a general donation. To donate as Sadaqah or any other category, please use the Support Our Programs donation box.

Why Give Through Human Aid Foundation?
Human Aid Foundation (HAF) is a UK-registered Islamic charity, charity number 1200059. We provide aid in the UK and abroad, including emergency response, clean water, food support, orphan sponsorship, and community projects such as building masjids. We follow a 100% donation policy on eligible appeals, meaning donations go towards charitable work rather than admin costs. We currently support people in places including Gaza, Pakistan, Tanzania and Bangladesh. If you want to give this Rabi al-Awwal, HAF offers a simple, faith-based option: a UK charity where Sadaqah and Zakat sit at the centre of our work, not just as a seasonal theme.
